In a village in which the sole belief of the entire populace was idol worship, they devoted their time, resources and every other precious possession to the worship of their idols. The people in this village vehemently trusted in the capability of their gods to do whatever request they make. In view of this belief, traders, fishermen, weavers, craftsmen and farmers vow to the gods to receive answers to their needs and once they received the results, the vows were not left unredeemed. In the village were fetish priests of the gods in different locations that the people deemed very powerful and occasionally went to them for solutions to their daily struggles.
Not so long afterwards came a missionary who arrived from an urban area but was a native of this village that is full of wickedness and idolatrous or traditional activities. As his parents were still alive in the village, he came back to see them as well as spread the Goodnews. Both his father and mother were idol worshippers and they never joked with them. This young man is Lumor and both parents were still living as couples but only that they lived in separate houses. Lumor came back with his wife Enyo whom he had married from the village before they both left the village.
In the city, this couple met a missionary who preached the Word of God to them one day in their apartment during one afternoon the missionary paid them a visit. This spouse got convicted so much by the power of God that they gave their lives to Christ instantly after they heard the message. As a result of their believe after hearing the Goodnews, they became very curious to experience the power of God because they had denounced their gods and must have a powerful source to shield them. The Holy Spirit came upon both powerfully that they knew that truly God's Spirit has visited them. From that day, this couple denounced their idols and burnt every object that was covenantal with the gods. As God told Gideon in Judges 6:25 [That night the LORD said to him, "Take your father's bull, and the second bull seven years old, and pull down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the Asherah that is beside it,], so they have done to completely denounce the idols.
In fact, the love and the presence of God abided with them so much so that even though their marriage was not done in Christ, God has taken control because they surrended everything unto him and withheld nothing. Some few years passed after the salvation of this family and Enyo got pregnant and because the LORD was with her, she carried the baby in her womb without encountering any maternal health issues and delivered safely and easily when the time was due. Lumor fasted and prayed to God for the name that must be given to the child. God spoke to him and the name given him was Dzidula (translated as Winner). After receiving the name, he told his pastor who visited him time to time to pray with them as well as minister God's Word unto them. The child was named and dedicated in the church for God to protect her and guide her all her life. Dzidula was always sent to Sunday school to learn God's Word even at a very tender age when she hadn't yet began speaking. At home, the parents prayed, studied God's Word and worshipped together to the extent that one day Winner who didn't know how to speak took the Bible and began reading miraculously to the surprise of the parents. It was so obvious that this girl would make impact in her generation that nothing could be able to hold her back. This child was brought up in the fear of God and she also grew in power and in the knowledge of his Word tough she was very young.
When the parents decided to visit her father's parents in the village, she also went with them but as they arrived they all went to stay with Mr Lumor's mother. Lumor's father asked for Dzidula to stay with him for two days and of which the parents agreed so she could be of help to him with some errands. People in the village come to Bokor Edu (Lumor's father) everyday for assistance from the gods and he did all those things instantly that people keep coming always for consultations. Dzidula was washing her handkerchief on the day she was first sent to the grandfather and as she was washing, she was praising God in songs. She finished and dried the handkerchief and the presence and power of God took over the house so that none of the gods were functioning any more. They were rendered totally incapable and dead. The grandfather did a ritual for someone who visited for a solution but he did not see the instant results he had been seeing so he got completely upset and did not know what to do. As the silence of the gods persisted and nothing seems to change, he went to a fellow fetish priest to get him find out the cause of the silence of the gods. He was told after some incantations and consultatins that a visitor he received was responsible for the decentralization of the power of the gods. He could not believe it because he had no other visitor apart from Dzidula and she was also a young girl so the whole thing was vague to him. It finally came our explicitly that her presence drove out and muted every unclean spirit that used to operate in the house. He came back to Dzidula and asked her what she had done but she didn't understand because she was not aware of the happenings initiated by God's presence that was with her. She now prayed and had a word from God about the situation. Every inquiry from all sources about the situation came down to Dzidula so the grandfather came again to ask her because he was so convinced that this girl has a supernatural power that came with her.
Now she boldly answered the grandfather telling him everything that happened was by God's Spirit. The grandfather being at a dilemma declared in his heart that if a young girl like Dzidula aged 9 could have power greater than that of his gods, then he will throw them away and receive her God so that he can also operate in such a power. He burnt the idols and gave his life to Christ as Dzidula led him to Christ. The parents came the second day to take Dzidula back and they could not believe what they saw but the evidence was so clear; the idols have all been burned. It was unbelievable. Dzidula's presence and impact in her grandfather's house highly moved Lumor who has come back to visit the parents as well as share the Goodnews to start his mission immediately because the power of God was already turning things around. Many people got convicted as this family of three proclaimed the Word and the happening was so surprising that the people understood that the idol worship will lead them no where. After all they only perpetuate evil in that village. Jesus Christ was proclaimed in the entire village and many gave their lives to Christ and received the Holy Spirit as the Bible says in John 1:12 [But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. KJV] Because Lumor and the wife went through training as ministers of God, they helped baptize the converts to fulfill what Jesus Christ commanded in Matthew 28:19 ["Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"].
It had long been long after the wind of God's salvation blew throughout the entirety of Vogar that wickedness left the land and God's righteousness was established. The fear of God really dropped into the people such that the people could not restrain themselves from doing the will of God. The conviction was so strong and powerfully imbibed and inscribed unto their hearts. Lumor and the household organized a church service where they preached the Word and after which a community fellowship unit was established to help nurture the people especially the converts to learn more and grow in Christ. The story and the wicked state of an entire village that remained for decades and centuries drastically changed for good because the hand of God touched the people as a result of a household deciding to share the Goodnews.
Light came into Vogar village because a people were saved who also decided to distinguish themselves unto God for his use and it was exactly so.
