Johnny Broke The Siege. Story with an all lifetime lesson

Image
Jonny was only five years old when he lost his father Agbeli Dzidepo. The mother’s name is Asinyo Esinam, a woman of value but unfortunately financially handicapped. Even before Mrs Esi lost her husband, life has not been easy for this household even though her husband was a teacher in Living Academy Preparatory School. Johnny was a handsome and a respectful boy who took exactly after his father’s good moral. His parents were very particular about his moral upbringing and his growth academically. Unlike children who turn out to be a disappointment even when their parents work tirelessly for their upkeep, his attitude was different. At home, he is the type that would run errands for the mother and made sure he reads his notes after and before school. Johnny learnt a very common saying one day which gingers him to aspire higher even as a child. “Reading makes the man“ and “Practice makes man perfect.“ He never went a day without saying this after his morning devotion with the mother

In the local dialect of the Ewes, whose main food is akple , the leftover one is termed TSORKPLE . For some folks, eating leftover food like akple or banku is something they do not like to attempt. Wastage of food is abhorred everywhere in the world and it is not an exception here also.  In fact, there is a belief that wasting food can make a person lack food or become poor in the future and it is considered a natural law or occurrence. The reason being that you wasting it means you do not want it and it might end up vanishing from you. According to him, the parents used to put a stone in a pot with water and place it on fire without their knowledge. The kids are then told that food(beans) is o

He slept too early while still hungry. This happened!

Image
It is quiet an interesting thing this young man experienced but it could or it is actually an experience for others as well. Whether shared or kept secret, it is what it is .  Just after tedious work on the farm, this guy though felt the need to find some supper to refresh his body, decided to just sleep because his mood that evening was not good. All because a little disagreement arose in the house between him and his guardian. He decided to play the hard guy game. Well, hunger does not know what is mood and I guess neither does the body care about that. Nourishment for the body is required for maximum performance in whatever the body engages in. After sleeping without eating in the evening, it wasn't even up to an hour but the person awoke and was having difficulty in sleeping. The guy resides in the village and belongs to a family of middle income and was able to afford a cement building with aluminum roofing sheets. It is hard to find a ceiling in most of the rooms in the villa

Per an observation of a town in the region, this was held in high respect such that it was obeyed by many especially those who have an idea of what it meant. Later, a story was shared of how someone swept her room one day in the night, collected the rubbish and threw it away. This person later realized her golden earring was lost which was detected that she might have swept it during
