Music is one very significant and vibrant elemental component of the Ewe culture and very integral in traditional performances as well as modern functions and gatherings. Whether it is public gatherings or even family occasions like naming ceremonies, marriage ceremonies, funerals, there is definitely a time allocated to the performance of various genres of music which are part of the traditions. Agbadza It is one of the forms of dances of the Ewes and goes along with its related songs and has its origin traced to the times or war. It is performed by opening and closing the upper limbs which specifically is the arms and hands in a rhythmic fashion against the body as the legs are moved in a synchronizing manner.
