     Jonny was only five years old when he lost his father Agbeli Dzidepo. The mother’s name is Asinyo Esinam, a woman of value but unfortunately financially handicapped. Even before Mrs Esi lost her husband, life has not been easy for this household even though her husband was a teacher in Living Academy Preparatory School. Johnny was a handsome and a respectful boy who took exactly after his father’s good moral. His parents were very particular about his moral upbringing and his growth academically. Unlike children who turn out to be a disappointment even when their parents work tirelessly for their upkeep, his attitude was different. At home, he is the type that would run errands for the mother and made sure he reads his notes after and before school. Preparing ademe detsi or the special Ewe ademe soup

Ademe soup is prepared using the leaves shown below which are of mainly two kinds and they are grown in backyard gardens, farms, etc. These plants when grown to a stage bear flowers which produce a pod that contains the seeds that are used to propagate the plants, the pods are allowed to grow up to maturity and dry after which the pods can be kept and the seeds inside which are very small are scattered on fertile land with enough moisture and then it germinates into the plants. It is only because of the leaves that these plants are grown because these leaves can sometimes be very expensive as they produce a very special soup. One kind of the ademe leaf used to prepare ademe detsi. This kind has its leaves to be long and a little bit narrow. Another kind of the ademe leaves also used to prepare ademe detsi or soup but it has the leaves rounded a bit and not too long.
