TOUCH ME - Equipping the man in Christ for warfare

Touch Me

Touch me is an annual program that happens in the Global Evangelical Students' and Associates' Ministry KNUST(GESAM) which is organized to build the students and all participants spiritually. It must be said that school is not just about the knowledge acquired but the character developed is also very essential as this is what makes an individual very relevant. This year, 2023's version of 'Touch Me' has the theme: Equipping the man in Christ for warfare. Taken from [2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. ESV]

The program commenced on Wednesday,15th February, 2023 - Friday, 17th February, 2023 at Republic Hall KNUST and Global Evangelical Church Praise chapel Ayigya-Kumasi. The Friday section was an all-night to crown the whole program which was power-packed, characterized by the Word of God, worship, ministrations, drama, prayers, etc. The guest speaker was Rev Dela Donkor who is a pastor at Global Evangelical Church Ghana. Talking about the theme ''Equipping the man in Christ for warfare", for a Christian to be able to engage in warfare, the authority over the self is key and the 3 in 1 nature of man was carefully explained as a basis for this.

Body
The body is the flesh and it has been made clear that the flesh can't have intimacy with God.
It compromises moral standards when under pressure.
It hates spiritual things.
The flesh is never satisfied and it is always in competition with others and exercises pride.
The flesh is also envious.

Soul
The soul is where the will, mind, and emotions reside. It falls under the control of either the body or the spirit depending on the one in control of the whole self.
Anger, lust, etc are expressions from within the soul.
The soul is also self-centered and can be religious and not spiritual at times. [Colossians 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.]

Spirit of man
This is the place of intimacy with God. The spirit craves for everything spiritual. [1 Corinthians 2:11 For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.] Connection with the Holy Spirit is what really makes a man fully equipped as the presence of the fullness of God's Spirit provides every need required for firm standing.
Faith and revelation were emphasized to be what can be used to enter into the Spirit realm where new doors of understanding begin to open.

"Don't be in competition with anyone but discover and know yourself so that you hit hard towards it." Rev Dela Donkor

"Life is with the heart. Hence, when the heart is alive, the soul is alive. Your mind has a measure. Your soul puts your mind to activity. Your will is your projections, desires (Job 7:15)"  Rev Dela Donkor

As a man matures and enters the Spirit of God, resistance to sin becomes so strong and this is where it can be understood that God is making ready a man for warfare because the battle over the flesh is being won. The Spirit of God when strongly connected with that of man drives a person so strongly into the things of God like prayer etc. Warfare is not a thing for only a spiritual person in Christ but it must be fought under instructions given by the Holy Spirit. Beware that fear is one weapon the enemy employs to build a hindrance when a person is engaged in warfare. Ephesians 6:10[ Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.]
