As every believer in Christ has been commanded in Matthew 28:19, it is our responsibility to make sure the gospel is preached all over the world but it is not entirely dependent on our efforts but the power of God makes it possible. One group of humans with much energy and zeal is the youth and as a way of teaching them to inculcate right from their stage as they grow, some denominations in Ghana support their students to embark on this activity of evangelizing to lost souls in order to win them for Jesus Christ.
In this article, my aim is to make sure that everyone who reads this article gets to understand some of the things that this particular event entails and how communities and lives get impacted positively to the glory of God. The duration for this event is normally for a week and the programme mostly covers remote towns and villages.
THE ACTIVITIES IN DETAIL
Prayers
The Bible tells how Jesus prayed always and also advises the disciples to pray. [Mark 1:35 Early in the morning, well before sunrise, Jesus rose and went to a deserted place where he could be alone in prayer.]
Preaching God's Word to people is also a battle on its own because the people are in darkness which means they are under the bondage of a spirit. Sending the light of God's Word there to rescue them is a battle and hence requires fervent prayers to protect the rescuers as well as protect the one to be rescued.
A number of different prayer topics are covered and some include, prayers for the stony hearts to be changed to a fleshy heart; prayer that God himself will draw men to himself; protection of God for the people who send the good news from any spiritual attacks; gifts of the Holy Spirit become activated that the message is preached with power; prayers that God himself will deliver the lost and rescue them through the message and a lot more.
Fasting
Once the disciples of Jesus were casting a demon that refused to leave and when they told the Lord about it he replied that this kind won't go except by fasting and prayers. [Mark 9:29: And He replied to them, This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer and fasting.] Evangelism is like a battle and in that case highly spiritual which requires people full of the Spirit to be able to conquer. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is being wholly consecrated for the work through the working of God's Spirit in a person. Fasting and prayer are a very powerful way to maintain the essence of the Holy Spirit that the work goes on for victory.
Dawn broadcasting
Early at dawn around 5:00am -6:00am, the students go round the communities with or without megaphone and proclaiming the Good news to all the people as they rest on their beds. This method of preaching the Word makes the proclamation general unlike one-on-one since the message is being preached without necessarily seeing the people listening. Despite this fact, dawn broadcasting impacts people even as they lie on their beds, [Hebrews 4:12: For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.] A group of two or four go to a particular point to do the delivery and as one person preaches, the others support in prayers. It is an open proclamation of the gospel which is simple terms is the birth, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind.
Jesus match or floating
Floating is an act of making the people in the town or village aware that some group of evangelists have arrived with news for the entire town which is normally done by the entire students who arrived in the town. A sound system aids to play music as announcements are also made in relation to the activities lined up for the week. Before even the arrival, the permission of the leaders of the town are made aware and in addition this act tries to make the populace ready for the message that will be delivered in diverse forms whether one-on-one or publicly. in preaching the gospel, at times people try to plunge attacks and so as this particular activity is going on, the security services are partnered with in order that they help control the flow of traffic to prevent any obstruction to to law and order.
One-on-one evangelism
Jesus Christ empowered the disciples, paired them two by two and then sent them out. The same strategy is used for the one on one evangelism so a pair goes out to preach the word. Under no circumstance is anyone allowed to go onto the field alone.
[Luke 10:1: After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.]
In cases where language is a barrier, the pairing is made such that a person in a pair is able to help do translation as the other person speaks. The Holy Spirit works in mighty ways to cause people to speak the language of the people as He leads. It is why total dependency on the Spirit of God is very key so that the message is preached without humans trying to make it seem so appealing that it lacks power.

Health Outreach
People living in remote areas at times have limited health care and facilities and some do not even have a health care center near their residence in case of an emergency. Incorporating this as part of the schedule helps to tell the people how much love we have for them. One time on the field, a person asked me why we were doing free health screening for hypertension, sugar level checks, eye test etc. All these is a way of showing love and affection because if not that we care about the souls of the people wouldn't have gone onto the field. The same way we value the souls of the people, the health of the body is also cherished and valued likewise. [John 15:12: My command is this: love each other as I have loved you.]
Follow-up
Follow-up is a means or strategy employed to make sure that the souls saved are kept and discipled for growth in Christ. How important it is so that the saved souls don't go back to their past lives.
Crusade
After sharing the word and saving some lost souls, it is very important that they are kept for their growth in Christ. The crusade makes it possible that after the day's evangelism outreach, the people preached to are brought to hear the Word of God and also ministered to in many ways like healing, deliverance and more. The Bible teaches the importance of fellowship with other believers.
Evangelism is the path given to reach out to the world for the gospel to travel far to the nations. Surprisingly, some think it is only during outreaches like this the the gospel has to be preached but it isn't so. In the workplaces and wherever people congregate for one reason or the other, the gospel can be preached through words spoken, actions and a lot more especially by those who profess to have the light of Christ in them.
YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN, GOD WANTS YOU TO BE THE LIGHT IN YOUR WORKPLACE, SCHOOL, HOME AND WHEREVER YOU ARE.
John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world, Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life."
