It refers to all graphic design products that are printed out as hardcopies for different purposes. Some of these include hardcopy books like newspapers, brochures, business cards, product packages, posters, billboards, notebooks, notepads, exercise books, etc. Many companies or producers of products harness the potential of these print media of communication to achieve business objectives or goals. The number of posters here make the whole thing so clouded that a person will have to be looking and reading a whole lot of information which is definitely going to be tiring. For good results, these poster would have to be spaced enough to ensure a viewer's attention is well drawn and sustained on one thing at a time.

Billboards

These are huge metal boards normally positioned along high streets to communicate to a large number of people either pedestrians or those in vehicles. The use of billboards for advertisements comes with a secret which is the simplicity of the design every billboard must have. Most of the time, the viewers are in a car hurriedly passing by and so with very limited text and high quality graphical information, the message in better delivered and results can also be easily met. Billboards are like extended posters since they also have a printed information in design that is fixed on them and mostly billboards are used for immensely funded advertisements. The only or major factor of difference is the metal board which is normally large on which the printed information is pasted then erected at strategic point to draw attention.

  • Primary package: Has direct contact with the product. A typical example is the two product packages shown below.
  • Secondary package: This type houses the primary product and using the pictures below as references, these products are wrapped in mostly a white thick rubber that contains a number of the products.
  • Tertiary package: The tertiary package is the type that houses both the primary and the secondary and it can be referred to as the container in which the products will be well packed for transportation to whole sellers, retailers and consumers.
