How to compress a folder in FILE EXPLORER and upload to Google Drive easily

Compressing a file in Explorer and uploading to Google Drive

In a case where a file is to be uploaded to a Google Drive account and the file is too large, compressing the file or folder is a great way to ensure faster upload or transfer. No special application or software is needed. To do this, get the various files needed put in a folder and once this is completed, the other steps will be detailed accordingly after this.

Right-click on the folder to compress and then select 'Add to Archive' from the pop-up menu. 
After making that selection you can choose where to save the folder to be compressed by simply clicking on 'Browse' at the top right-hand side below the tabs in the pop-up menu and then clicking ok. The compression will be done and after some minutes your compressed folder will be ready for upload to your Google Drive account.

The next step of the procedure is to launch your Drive account by typing Google Drive in the Google search bar and clicking on sign-in.  


Once Drive is in operation, click the arrow beside My Drive and select upload. The selected compressed folder will be uploaded and the upload progress can be seen at the bottom right corner of the interface. This is just how easy it can be to do just this. After some minutes your folder is uploaded and now on Google's cloud storage which you can access anytime and can share with others as well.

How to share the uploaded folder. 

Open the upload folder and click the more options symbol at the top right.

Click the three vertical strokes and then select share to start the process of sharing the upload file or folder from Drive


This symbol is indicated by three vertical lines and once clicked, select the share option from the menu and choose who can view your folder. Copy the link and share.
