To be made use of are flour, sugar, oil or margarine, salt. Nutmeg can also be added.

Get a bowl big enough and pour in the flour. The amount or quantity can be a cup or two. Form a solution using water as the solvent and the solutes as salt and sugar. Check the sugar and salt levels per your taste and add solution little by little to the flour. Add some amount of margarine or just a cooking oil like Frytol, Gino, Sunflower or anyone available.

Mix thoroughly to form a dough which should be hard but not excessively hard for it to make well in the next stage of the process. With all these done, it is now time to roll over the dough using a rolling pin or a glass bottle so that it is made flat.

At this stage, you will need a rolling pin and a rolling board but if these are not available, a table can serve the purpose of the board and use a glass bottle for the rolling.
Roll gently but with a little pressure to get a uniform thickness and once this is on point, get a knife and be ready to cut the slabs into long stripes before finally cutting them into smaller square-like pieces for frying.

In addition, because the dough is not supposed to be totally hard, the cut pieces can at times join or adhere to themselves so it has to be well handled to prevent this occurrence, pour enough oil into a frying pan and when it is hot, fry till it becomes brownish.
The frying process requires a very low or moderate heat for proper frying if not the whole chips will turn black and can't be eaten. When it is fried over a very moderate heat, the brownish colour makes it look very appetizing at a glance and induces you to enjoy it with your soft drinks.

So, just with flour, oil, sugar and salt, you can make chips which when taken in addition to some soft drink or beverage can carry you longer. It can be taken with porridge or with tea and even without any other thing.

As you fry, be careful not to allow the chips to become deep brown in the hot oil on the fire as it might burn and taste bitter.
