Among the Ewes, it is known as Fante dorkunu and the one thing so special about this type of kenkey is the taste. The fermented taste of this food gives it some really fascinating factors to develop interest in consuming it. Also, it can be eaten as normal kenkey with ground pepper and fried fish or with soups, stews and shito. Apart from eating it as normal kenkey, there is a very special way of consuming it and this is mashing it into an even liquid mixture like a beverage.
Fante kenkey has unique packaging which is in natural organic leaves or first wrapped in a white rubber before being packaged in the leaves and it adds to its shelf life or ability to stay usable for a number of days without getting spoilt.
