  In the Ewe Language spoken by the Ewes of Ghana, 'agbeli' means 'cassava' and hence the word 'agbeli kaklo' means 'cassava fritters'. In the Twi Language also, 'cassava' is known as 'bankyi' and hence the name 'bankyi kakro' means cassava fritters.
