     Jonny was only five years old when he lost his father Agbeli Dzidepo. The mother’s name is Asinyo Esinam, a woman of value but unfortunately financially handicapped. Even before Mrs Esi lost her husband, life has not been easy for this household even though her husband was a teacher in Living Academy Preparatory School. Johnny was a handsome and a respectful boy who took exactly after his father’s good moral. His parents were very particular about his moral upbringing and his growth academically. Unlike children who turn out to be a disappointment even when their parents work tirelessly for their upkeep, his attitude was different. At home, he is the type that would run errands for the mother and made sure he reads his notes after and before school. Johnny learnt a very common saying one day which gingers him to aspire higher even as a child. “Reading makes the man“ and “Practice makes man perfect.“ He never went a day without saying this after his morning devotion with the mother

Some time ago, as I was viewing some posts on one social media platform, I came across a post that wanted readers to mention some towns in the Volta Region of Ghana that start with the letter "A". It created the impression that people want to know of the various towns we have in the Volta Region and probably some history behind how the town was created and how the name came about. That is absolutely the reason why this post comes very useful to you as you learn about the great history of the Ewes.
The towns are listed in alphabetic order to make it very easy to review and interesting to follow through all the way to the end of the article.

Awalavi: This is a town whose name is popular in the region because rice is planted there and sold to neighboring towns.

Akatsi: This town also happens to be one of the biggest in the region and its market also attracts market women from Denu, Agbozume and other places for commerce. The town has a senior high school known as AKAST which is Akatsi Senior High and Technical School.
Atiavi
Anloga: This is where the Hogbetsotso festival of the Anlos or Ewes is celebrated every year. The senior high in the town is called ANSECO, Anlo Senior High School.

Agbozume: Agbozume has suburbs which include Some and some other smaller towns and even villages. The senior high school in the town is called SOSEC which is Some Senior High School. Even though not too big, it has fame due to the fact that it is the hub for all kinds of traditional kente cloths which are sold and transported to different countries worldwide. Agbozume has a lot of small villages or towns. Aflao: Aflao has a border which opens or leads into Togo. Due to this, the town is very busy in terms of commercial activities.

Glidzi: The town is near Klikor and at areas like this, cassava farm is what they do most. As a result they are one of the people in addition some areas in Klikor that produce gari which is transported to markets within the entire region.

Ho: It is the capital town of the Volta Region. An airport is now in the town and because of the weather conditions in Ho, farming goes on there very well producing fresh crops for the market.
