Global Evangelical Church(GEC) is a church that believes in the redemptive work of Christ as the Son of God, and believes in the Bible as God's Word, the Holy Spirit and His gifts. The church started from somewhere which is to mean some many years back and has some history as well. History of the Global Evangelical Church

The church was established in Ghana but now has some branches in some foreign countries as well like the UK, the U.S.A, Norway, Cote d'Ivoire, Togo and Kenya. The headquarters of the church is in the capital of Ghana, Accra, Madina-Global Evangelical Church- Adonai Chapel.

Origin of the name

The church was first part of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana (EP) but later became a ministry on its own which led to the adoption of the name Global Evangelical Church. This event of adoption of the name happened at the Extra-Ordinary Synod held at Adonai Chapel - Madina, Accra on 3rd May, 2003. 

The church is one very concerned about the spread of the GOOD NEWS for the message to reach where it hasn't reached.

Ministries within the church

To make the running of the church a smooth one and as it is in other churches as well, the church has ministries which are the men's ministry, children's ministry, youth ministry, women's ministry and GESAM. 

Men's Ministry

It includes all men in the church and a man among the rest is elected or chosen to chair this group. The aim is to unite everyone and in the bid to contribute to the spiritual growth and other aspects of life as well. During celebrations like Men's Week among others, the men prepare and perform a number of activities to the glory of God. The men have a slogan, MEN! The response is ACTION

Children's Ministry

Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 ["Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these"] We believe in building individuals who are God-fearing and full of the love of God in this perverse generation, it starts from the very infantry ages and so the church takes priority in the spiritual, moral and academic development and upbringing of the children. The Sunday school provides the avenue to teach the young ones the Word of God so that they grow knowing the truth. Annually, Bible Quiz is organized from the local levels of the church all over Ghana to the national level. The competition starts from group clashes and then those who are able to win the various levels meet at the national to contest from the bragging right and some awards. The notion is not to engage in a mere competition but to make the children develop the urgency and love for the scriptures. At the Sunday school, the kids learn Spirit-filled songs and action songs making it all joy to be present always.

Youth Ministry

Headed by the youth leader, this ministry seeks to help the youth grow and mature in the fear of the Lord. 

Women Ministry

Women are very pivotal in growth of a ministry and this ministry is one that is vibrant and full of many wonderful people. The women also have their own activities geared towards building the women into virtuous women with value and full of God's love.

Global Evangelical Student's and Associates' Ministry(GESAM)

I think GESAM has a very large number because it comprises members of the mother church as well as associates from across second-cycle institutions to tertiary institutions in the country. At the tertiary level especially, GESAM is headed by a designated campus pastor by the church who sees to the well-being of the students. Since it is a student based ministry, a students is elected as the president with vice as well as other elected executives who help in the administration of the ministry. The fun and vibrancy of this ministry is high as it is full of individuals in their youthful ages.

Every year GESAMITES in the tertiary institutions go for SICE(Student In Church Evangelism) which is an initiative to inculcate the habit of preaching the gospel in them. 

In addition, there is an annual program known as Congress Conference which brings together members from all over the country to fellowship together.

The church runs from the local congregations to the national level. This is how it is; local congregation, district, presbytery and the national.
