Remedy for lateness?

Illustration with the text: Any antidote for lateness?

Well, I remember very well one day in secondary school when I went to school late and was punished severely. The punishment was six lashes in the palm which made my palm and the hands rigid lacking the ability to move for some time because the strokes were hard. Aside from these, we were given a field to weed using the cutlass and I say that it was a hard thing to do. You definitely might have had an experience of this sort and a lot of other encounters where lateness was something you would have wished to avoid. The truth is that a large number of people talk about lateness as a habit that retards progress but unfortunately, only a few are able to show up either at school or events before a set time.

As I have heard people say, an aeroplane does not wait for any passenger and once a passenger arrives late, his ticket is gone and I don't know if the money can be gotten back. See, people who have really traveled to explore the world in other countries apart from their own give testimonies of how people practice punctuality and avoid lateness as it can result in job loss, financial losses, and much more. You do not want to read these negative effects of lateness and still want to wallow in this bad habit.

The major cause of lateness

INDISCIPLINE
Diverse habits and actions can be held as responsible for lateness but to put it in a summary, the cause largely is the absence of requisite self-control and discipline. A young man told a story of how he was awarded the best award not necessarily because of his academic prowess but his exercise of astute discipline in all he does as a student which earned him such recognition.

Productivity they say is output per time. For everything done on the earth, whether it is executed successfully or not, it has to be measured within a duration of time and this is what defines the state of the outcome. Knowing this truth, a retired military man who has become a great entrepreneur shared his story and journey into the military after completing university just to undergo discipline to be well disciplined. Sounds like a joke. Right?
This is how much somebody values discipline and the positive effects of discipline in his life and his business is just a wonderful one to admire. Even though children right from their early stage of education are trained to be punctual, the required disciplinary measures to imbibe this habit in them is not enough from all the sources hence what is seen in some institutions about worker lateness. At times motivations and some other incentives are instituted both in schools and corporate bodies to recognize individuals with outstanding values especially with time and it is a very laudable initiative every where it is done.

Any antidote for lateness?

So, there has to be a way out to address the issue of lateness because if productivity is to increase, the time frame of production has to be effectively used.
Some suggested remedies for you to be punctual.

  • Plan your day and have a workable schedule
  • Be disciplined enough to follow your schedule
  • Track your productivity on a monthly or weekly basis

Prioritization of one's activities is a crucial step to working on time and apt to business. Definitely, there are loads of tasks to be completed but one has to be done before the other, and without setting priorities right, the thing is going to mess up. If someone reading this still hasn't got the point, let's look at this scenario: John wakes up early in the morning and prays or has his devotion, he then goes to eat, bath and after wearing his clothes for school, as he was about leaving, the mum now prompted him to brush his teeth. Have the activities been planned right? No, there was a misappropriation somewhere. Figure it out.
