LEARNING THE PROCESS OF COCONUT OIL PREPARATION

Coconut is one of the useful commodities in our country because it has many benefits. There are so many uses of coconut which you can read about HERE. One of these uses which is oil production is what we want to look at in this article. Before we continue, the coconut tree is planted by first nursing a mature and dry coconut that has fallen by itself. Coconut takes at least five years after planting before it begins to produce coconut. This type of farming is also a lucrative one considering the many ways that coconuts are useful to the whole world.

To prepare coconut oil, you must have dry coconuts or those mature but not completely dry too can be used.

GRIND THE DRY COCONUT
After you have at hand the coconuts to use, you need to grind them at a mill and then the next stage continues, It will surprise you that formerly our parents used to grind using some simple metal grates at home because there were no mills. But today, the stress of grinding using your hand has been taken out by technology.

SQUEEZE THE WATER TO SEPARATE THE CHAFF
The coconut water is what we are going to use so you have to squeeze the water from the ground coconut to separate the water from the chaff. Now, after the separation, pour additional water into coconut water and pour the water into different gallons or pans. Put the gallons of coconut water under the sun. After sometime, something like soapy scum gathers on top of the water. Gather this scum on top of the water and pour it into a pot on the fire.

BOIL UNTIL OIL FORMATION
The layer on top of the water which has been poured into the pot must now be boiled thoroughly until oil formation begins. Occasionally the oil can be stirred because there will be a formation of a brown substance attached to the pot inside. When the oil is well cooked, it starts giving off a very pleasant smell, and then you can pour the oil into a container. The brown substance below the oil can be used to eat gari since it is very tasty.

So simple to prepare but it takes some time to finish the whole preparation. Try it out.
