My 7km daily commute to work

You would think vehicles are very common nowadays so it is an automatic obligation to onboard a car anytime you want to travel even a short distance. It has not been any regret that I stayed with some really old guys from whom I heard many real life stories of how our forefathers kept themselves fit and lived to a good old age.
One day whilst in class, an art teacher who taught Painting narrated how he used to walk barefoot a long distance to school and back for a long time before eventually getting a foot wear. According to him, though it was an unforgettable experience for him, such an experience or lifestyle greatly helped people live long and stayed healthy.
The secret is having a good lifestyle but this lifestyle has to be rightly defined and rightly practiced.

Walking a long distance isn't a joke or a child's play but it becomes easy to do when the understanding of the benefits are known.

Walking

Walking everyday for about three months and covering a distance of 7 km or more every morning is interesting and amazing. At times, when walking, due to work and tiredness from the previous day's work, it seems very tedious but perseverance pushes the legs to keep going until the destination is reached. It has revealed its advantages in the fitness aspect particularly.

Walking benefits...
Going the daily routine of walking over a 5 km distance to work gives me that exercise of my stomach walls. As the walking proceeds, I just know that the muscles and even the inside is being exercised. Walking daily strengthens the muscles and throughout the working day, some level of energy is generated for the day's work. This makes it not to seem as another work since I am going to work but I consider it a starter or booster to release the day's energy for work. It is like a form of activation thinking about warm up moves before body workout.

Covering a distance of this sort every morning isn't a punishment but it is a choice to do what helps you or follow others blindly and bear the consequences. Well, I know in military training long distance walks are part of the workouts and thinking about that does nothing but assures that walking is very important as far as fitness is concerned. If I don't get time to exercise and stretch the body, then walking probably can be a substitute even though not completely to make sure the body is fit.

However, I noticed the difference in how walking slowly, faster and even running or jogging all impact the body's physical activity. One of the days when I was late and decided to walk a bit faster than usual, the leg muscles gave some pains I think because the pressure was not the usual one this time.

Drinking lots of water in the morning is quite difficult to do even though a healthy habit but as one walks and begins to sweat, drinking water comes as a need and as you do, you help the body clean the system.

Walking must be seen as a very healthy lifestyle and for those who use cars almost everyday, you just have to be strategic to make sure you walk some distance daily as a form of exercise and whatever you may call it. Just a little planning and little effort to make sure it is done.
