In rural areas and probably some areas in urban centers where mango fruits are found, when the fruits are out of season, everyone desires to get some to eat with very strong desires. During times like these, there appears to be a very strong longing for the mango fruits. In contrast to periods like these, there also come seasons where mango trees produce mango fruits and at times it is in so much abundance that consumption by humans even becomes so difficult. It is so common that during an abundance of mango fruits, the fruits fall but are left on the ground to rot to nothing.

Is it because mango does not benefit us?
The answer is a big NO. When mango is in so much abundance, people go under the mango trees to gather and pluck some of the fresh ones for sale in the market. In our days as little children, it was an unforgettable experience where we used to climb mango trees to pluck both the ripe and unripe mangoes for sale in the market to women who buy from us and afterward sell to people consumers in urban areas where the fruits are scarce to get.

This was also some kind of a booming business especially when the fruits are abundant and very fresh and this business is still run anytime the fruits are in the system. Mango as a fruit and like any other fruit has health benefits to the human body by making available some food nutrients like Vitamin K, Vitamin C, Carbohydrate, Beta-carotene, etc. It is a truth as always advised by health practitioners that everyone needs to consume fruits to protect and build the body in immunity against diseases to keep the body healthy at all times. Amidst all the health benefits of mango as a fruit and the monetary value some people even attain from it, many of the fruits still get rotten.
Interestingly, I know about mango chips which are made mostly from the bigger kind of mango fruit as against the very small ones that are very common in rural habitations. Could there be some possible use of mango that can help prevent it from going bad as we often see?
Well, there should be because it is a very special fruit despite in most cases so small in form. Mango can be used to prepare a jam and so the smaller ones which are the most abundant too can possibly be used to ensure they are not left to rot. Jam is a very nice product that goes well with bread and can make a good business too.
There is a very important benefit of mango I need not forget in any way. It helps in freeing the bowels really well making it serve as an answer or solution to constipation. This is something most people who love to eat mango can testify of and it is due to the fact that mango contains fiber and other important compositions for this function. Looking at all these marvelous benefits we can derive from mango fruits, people must be intentional in making sure they do not allow what God has made for the good of humanity to go bad. Some funny happenings also surface online, especially on social media where some people take videos of people looking into mango trees in search of the fruits to make fun of them but this act should be discouraged to embolden people to love its consumption. Mango can satisfy and give relief from hunger after consuming a few mangoes and so it is not a shame to be seen plucking mangoes. If you do not want to pluck, then you might have to buy some instead from the market. Attaching value to the good things God has given us is what will unite the whole populace to access the benefits therein.
